A valid work permit is required for foreign students who wish to work in Taiwan (on/off campus). Offenders will be fined for NTD30,000 to NTD150,000 and may lose their residence eligibility and be deported.

Foreigners studying Chinese language courses at a university-affiliated center can apply for a part-time work permit after studying for at least 6 months to 1 year.
