Since the outbreak and spread of COVID-19 in 2020, the fight against global pandemic in Taiwan has been successful through the year. Yet, despite strict restrictions last year, a leak in inbound border control has resulted in a surge of local infections that pushed the CECC to elevate to a nationwide Level 3 epidemic warning in late May. Meanwhile, CLC, NSYSU, foresaw the crisis of in-person instruction suspension, and the new impacts and challenges, has responded accordingly to implement special precautionary measures in online teaching training for all instructors persistently, focusing mainly on digital technology applications. Starting from 19th May, though all CLC courses have transformed into online classes, teachers performed tasks with ease because of previous training experiences. They led class activities, such as pictorial subjects, breakout practices, video application, and used language materials with flexibility and versatility. The training program planned before the serious surge made teachers well prepared in advance, and proved effectively in helping students making excellent progress. All online classes CLC offered went on smoothly and successfully. Teachers and students exceeded expectations during the online teaching sessions.

Currently, after 2 months’ efforts in prevention measures, the warning lowered back to Level 2 alert on July 27th eventually. Nevertheless, as the situation has gradually eased, and we have overcome the hardships, we must keep alert while making lives back to normal. Though the outbreak of COVID-19 has drastically changed our lives, we feel even more delighted and confident that the new school year at CLC will be a chance to build on these successes.
